Here’s all the times we’ve seen Damon be actually happy:
1) When he was human
2) After he kissed Elena
…all the while knowing that it didn’t mean that they would actually be together.
No tongue, no sex, no “I love you”. Just a simple kiss and he’s happy.
Now imagine how happy he’d be if they were together.
I don’t really understand people who say they don’t ship Delena but ship Damon/happiness…because Elena is Damon’s happiness…when you know, she’s not too busy being his humanity.
