CAN WE JUST FUDGING BACKPEDDLE HERE FOR HALF OF A FUDGING SECOND. Elena fudging Gilbert climbed into the bed that Damon Salvatore was laying in. She just… feebly pretended to kick him off, whatever, cuz that’s what she does. But then? Heck with it, she crawls into the bed with him. Gets under the covers, all comfortable like, and casually chats it up with him. NBD, right? WRONG. Because this is the woman and man who used to be at constant odds and had trust issues. And now, Elena is climbing into bed with him, not even kicking him out of her room. He’s there, and she’s completely relaxed and doesn’t even think twice about falling asleep with him a mere foot away. AND THEN. She tells him that his brother will come back from the edge because he loves HIM. Not her, but DAMON. And his face. You can just see his face, and how much these precious things mean to him. She trusts him, she cares for him, and she unknowingly helps him feel better about everything that just happened with Stefan about an hour or so ago by telling him that his brother loves him. Stefan loves Damon, and Elena presents this like it’s a fact. Like, the sky is blue. The grass is green. Stefan loves you. And that’s that. Oh, and did I mention this took place in her BED? I literally cannot with this ship. I just… I can’t. It’s too perfect.
